5B Screening and Panel Discussion

5B Screening and Panel Discussion

Tuesday, December 3 with an encore screening added Wednesday, December 11. Please note, there will be no post-film discussion on Wednesday, December 11.

5B is the inspirational true story of the everyday heroes, nurses and caregivers who took extraordinary action to comfort, protect and care for the patients of the first AIDS ward unit in the United States. 5B is a stirringly told through first-person testimony of these nurses and caregivers who built Ward 5B in 1983 at San Francisco General Hospital, their patients, loved ones and staff who volunteered to create care practices based in humanity and holistic well-being during a time of great uncertainty. The result in an uplifting yet candid and bittersweet monument to a pivotal moment in American history and a celebration of quiet heroes, nurses and caregivers worthy of renewed recognition.

Come meet Brendan Gaul, the producer, and characters whose story inspired this film and Senior Leadership from Johnson & Johnson and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation in a panel discussion following the film to discuss current issues in HIV Education and Treatment

The evening has been generously underwritten by BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive Bandages and will celebrate the recent launch of their (BAND-AID)RED Bandages. Join the fight. Buy it, Wear it, and Share it. #BandTogether to end AIDS in your lifetime.
